The Butler County Symphony Orchestra will perform its "Amber Waves" concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the auditorium of Butler Intermediate High School, 551 Fairground Hill Road.
Featured soloists are Butler County Symphony concertmaster Galina Istomin, who emigrated from Russia in 1991, and her daughter Katerina, a recent Juilliard graduate.

The Paul Laurence Dunbar Community Center and the Salvation Army will host a Fun Fest for children from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Salvation Army, 313 W. The Butler County Historical Society has announced a new exhibit and hours for the Butler County Heritage Center, 119 W. New Castle St.Hours will be noon to 4 p.m. during November and December (except Dec. 20.)The William A. Lowry Family exhibit is now open for viewing. Lowry was a prominent Butler citizen who was a Civil War veteran and community leader. He married Annie Zeigler, daughter of politician Jacob Zeigler.The exhibit includes artifacts from Lowry's military service, Zeigler family items, clothing, personal items, household artifacts, and objects from Lowry's father's hotel, the Lowry House.Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for students ages 5 to 17, and free for children age 5 and younger. HARMONY — Hikers and history buffs alike will gather the day after Thanksgiving at the Harmony Museum for a scenic hike and "history party" commemorating George Washington's travels through Butler Country in 1753.Washington, then a 21-year-old major in the Virginia militia, traveled through Pennsylvania Indian country to confront the French who were building forts on land claimed by England and the Virginia Colony.The event on Nov. 27 starts and ends with Harmony Museum tours and a hot-apple-cider-and-cookies reception in the museum's Stewart Hall, on the diamond at the center of Harmony's National Historic Landmark District.Groups of hikers will be taken by bus to a hiking path in Connoquenessing Township that closely follows the Indian path that Washington likely traveled in the winter of 1753. Slippery Rock University history students will serve as history guides on a 45-minute hike through the woods. The shuttle will return hikers to Stewart Hall.The reception will include artists and experts with a special interest in Washington's 1753 mission.Event hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with hike departures scheduled for 11 and 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.Cost is $5 per person, $12 per family. PITTSBURGH — Beginning Saturday, WQED-TV at 4802 Fifth Ave. will offer the public its final chance to visit "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood of Make-Believe" as it was during its many years of production in Pittsburgh.The original "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" set has been restored and reassembled, enabling people to see King Friday XIII's Castle, "X" the Owl and Henrietta Pussycat's Tree.Public tours will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and Sunday.
