My name is Ed Latuska and I am writing this letter to the voters of Center Township to announce my support for the Democratic candidate for supervisor, Phil Heasley.

I am currently serving as one of your supervisors. I am a lifelong conservative Republican and have faithfully served this community as a supervisor for over 20 years. Normally I do not publicly endorse political candidates. However, I am making an exception in this case because of the vital importance this upcoming election has to the future of Center Township.

It is a well-known fact that historically Center Township has had a higher Republican voter registration than Democrat. This has been an advantage to many Republican candidates over the years, including myself.

However, party affiliation should not be the sole determining factor in selecting the next Center Township supervisor on Nov. 2. It should be based on the character and integrity of the candidate. Mr. Heasley possesses these important qualities. He has a vision for the future of Center Township. He will make decisions that are in the best interests of Center Township and its residents and not on personal agendas.

I encourage the voters of Center Township, both Democrats and Republicans alike, to support Phil Heasley as your supervisor on Nov. 2.
