Officer cited for harassing boy

A state trooper from Butler who is stationed at the Kittanning barracks has been suspended without pay after being cited with a summary charge of harassment for allegedly shoving a 16-year-old boy in Armstrong County in June.

Trooper Nickolas Robert Elliott, 30, of Butler was suspended after being cited Thursday by the state police's Bureau of Integrity and Professional Standards, Internal Affairs Division in Pittsburgh, according to state police.

On June 27 just before 6 a.m., Elliott allegedly shoved or otherwise subjected the victim to physical contact when he pushed the victim from behind and later subjected him to physical contact that served no legitimate purpose when the victim was seated in a vehicle, according to the citation filed by state police.
