Suspect arrested after manhunt
WEST LIBERTY — State police arrested a Harrisville man as a suspect in an incident Saturday involving a shooting, stabbing and two injured people.
The search began Saturday morning after an incident in which two people were shot and stabbed. The victims were flown to Pittsburgh hospitals. Their conditions were not known as of late Sunday.
Police arrested the man, who was said to be in his 40s, shortly before 2 p.m. and within the search area. The search included multiple police units, and at one point, the state police helicopter above the area of Smith Road.
At the time of the search, Slippery Rock University officials released a statement to its students and faculty describing the gunman and noting he was considered armed and dangerous.
No other details were available at press time.
