Cowboys, Bucs open NFL season
TAMPA, Fla — The Dallas Cowboys proved to be a worthy opponent for the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL’s season opener Thursday night.
At press time, Dallas trailed by just two points with seven minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Dak Prescott’s 21-yard scoring pass to Amari Cooper late in the third quarter pulled the Cowboys to within 28-26.
Bucs’ quarterback Tom Brady had already thrown four touchdown passes —including one to former Pittsburgh Steeler Antonio Brown — but was also intercepted twice.
