Dr. Henry Sinopoli dies from injuries from bicycle accident
Dr. Henry Sinopoli, 74, of Butler, died Friday afternoon from injuries he suffered in a Wednesday morning accident in Butler in which the bicycle he was riding and a vehicle collided.
During his life, Sinopoli was an English teacher at Butler County Community College, superintendent at Allegheny-Clarion Valley and other school districts, chairman of the Redevelopment Authority of Butler, board member at Moraine Trail Council of the Boy Scouts of America and YMCA health speaker.
Sinopoli was flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with critical injuries following the accident at the intersection of North Washington and West Brady streets at 7:55 a.m., said city police Chief Bob O'Neill.
The vehicle driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation, O'Neill said.
