Community is always there to help

A Sunday, Feb. 21, fire tore through the Clinton Township public works building, destroying road equipment and a garage.

A huge “thank you” is extended to all the responding fire companies, including Saxonburg, Middlesex, Sarver, Herman, Buffalo, Winfield, West Deer 1, Penn, Harrison Hills and Adams Area for being there.

Without the trained and dedicated volunteers, our loss would have been greater. Within hours of this tragic fire, Cranberry, Winfield and Middlesex townships offered trucks for snow plowing, salt spreading and loading, allowing the Clinton road crew to respond to another weather front of ice and snow Monday morning.

Support from neighbors has been so generous, appreciated and overwhelming. We will recover from this temporary setback, knowing that our Butler County community is always there to help during an unexpected crisis.

Again, your friends from Clinton Township join me in thanking our generous neighbors.

Kathy Allen,

Clinton Township supervisor chairwoman
