Pirates trail Cubs late at Wrigley
CHICAGO — Yu Darvish struck out seven and permitted two hits in six innings Friday night as the Chicago Cubs had a 4-1 lead on the Pittsburgh Pirates in the eighth inning at Wrigley Field.
The Pirates were limited to five hits in the first eight innings. Jarrod Dyson produced a run-scoring single in the eighth.
Jason Kipnis homered for the Cubs and Jason Heyward had a two-run single. Pirate starting pitcher Trevor Williams worked 4.2 innings, striking out six.
