County hires new elections director

A poll worker feeds a test ballot into the new a polling machine a few days before the June primary election in 2020.

A Cranberry Township man is Butler County's new elections bureau director.

In addition to his experience working the polls in a voting precinct in the township, Aaron G. Sheasley, who will start on July 27, is a managing partner and director of SE Systems and Technologies of Cranberry Township.

He is the former interim director of information technology for Carlow University in Pittsburgh and former director of operations and information systems for Engineered Systems & Solutions in Pittsburgh, according to a news release from the county commissioners.

“We were fortunate to find someone from our own county who had both the practical experience as a judge of elections along with an extensive technical background,” said Leslie Osche, commissioners chairwoman.

Sheasley is eager to take up his post as elections director.

“I'm looking forward to serving the people of Butler County, to ensuring safe and fair elections and to increasing both voter awareness and engagement,” he said.

The job became available after Shari Brewer, who had been director of elections for 10 years, left her post in April.
