A 19-year-old woman was arrested after Butler police said she tried to hit a man several times with a car during an altercation Monday night on East North Street.

A youth who was in the car also is accused of pointing a BB gun at the man and threatening to fire it at him during the incident around 8:30 p.m.

But the suspected victim also was arrested after he squared off with one of the officers when police attempted to take him into custody for public intoxication and place him in handcuffs. Police said when they had to take him to the ground, an officer suffered minor injuries, including minor bumps and bruises.

The investigation began when police got a call for a fight reportedly involving a gun.
