UPDATE: Route 356 re-opens, schools delayed
Morning commuters be advised: Route 356 between Freeport High School and the Sheetz store in Buffalo Township is closed due to a one-vehicle wreck shortly after 6 a.m.
Buffalo Township police closed the road about 6:20 a.m. after a vehicle struck a gas meter.
No injuries were reported.
A Peoples Gas crew has been notified and is on the way, authorities said.
The Buffalo Township and Sarver volunteer fire departments are assisting police.
Also, Freeport Area School District just announced its schools are operating on a two-hour delay, though it is not clear if the delay is a result of the accident.
