PNC Bank closing 19 branches, one in Cranberry

CRANBERRY TWP — A PNC Bank branch in Cranberry Township is scheduled to close.

The Pittsburgh-based bank, in filings last week with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, indicated it was to close 19 branches across the country, including its site at the Westinghouse Electric Co. campus in Cranberry Woods.

Its two other branches in Cranberry Township — one at the junction of Route 19 and North Boundary Road and another on Freedom Road — will remain open, with one likely becoming the receiving branch for the Cranberry Woods location. The branch on Freedom Road is a little more than a mile away from the closing location.

The other locations in Pennsylvania slated to be closed are in Philadelphia, Fairfield, Media and Pocono Pines. Fourteen locations in other states were included in the filings.
