Dale Pinkerton honored by commissioners
Pink ties and shirts and bold prints dotted the county commissioners’ meeting room Wednesday when the board of commissioners presented the family of Dale Pinkerton with a proclamation at their monthly meeting.
The commissioners asked all row officers to don the colorful clothing in honor of Pinkerton, a former commissioner and longtime county servant who died at age 79 Sunday night after an illness.
County leaders dabbed their eyes as Leslie Osche, commissioners chairwoman, read a statement on what Pinkerton meant to the county and as Commissioner Kim Geyer read the proclamation aloud.
January 22 was proclaimed “Commissioner Pinkerton Fantastic Day” in honor of Pinkerton’s catchphrase, “faaaantastic.”
