Mars Area School District handles 'noncredible threat'
Evening activities at Mars Area High School were canceled Monday after the district received a “noncredible threat” yesterday afternoon.
Superintendent Wes Shipley said in a letter posted online Monday that the cancellation was a “precautionary measure.” Local police investigated the incident and determined the threat was unsubstantiated.
Activities occurring in other district buildings were not affected Monday.
The district reported that the student who perpetrated the threat was identified. That student was “turned over to local police to face criminal charges.”
