Butler man, 30, implicated in stun gun threat

A blocked parking spot may have angered a Butler man enough to allegedly point a stun gun at another man. No one was injured in the weekend incident.

Aaron S. Wiemelt, 30, is charged with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct. He is free on his own recognizance while awaiting a hearing next month.

The altercation occurred around 5:25 p.m. Sunday at an apartment building on the 200 block of West Brady Street where Wiemelt and the 28-year-old victim both live, Butler police said.

The victim told officers that he was working on his truck in the parking lot when the defendant tried to pull in, but couldn't, according to charging documents. Wiemelt apparently got impatient and began beeping his horn.

He eventually was able to get to his parking spot. But the victim recounted that while in his truck, he saw the suspect at his driver's side door.

“Wiemelt was displaying a stun gun, pointing it at (the victim),” documents said.

The two men argued before Wiemelt left and went into his apartment. A witness corroborated the other man's account, police said,

The defendant was holding the stun gun, police said, when he answered the door after officers arrived. He was ordered to drop it, and he complied.

He apparently did not give a statement to police, and he could not be reached for comment.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 9.
