NATCHEZ, Miss. — Academy Award winner Allison Janney will take the stage at a Mississippi theater in a fundraiser for the venue's restoration project.

The Natchez Democrat newspaper reports stars from the upcoming film “Breaking News in Yuba County,” have volunteered to be in a production at the Natchez Little Theatre on Saturday night.

The movie was filmed in Natchez and stars Janney, Mila Kunis, Awkwafina and Regina Hall. The event will feature Janney and a few “surprise” guests.

Representatives from the theater's board of directors say the proceeds would be used for funding youth programs and multiple restoration projects, including a remodel of the theater's Mayweather Hall. Representatives say they hope to raise $350,000 and have already received donations from “all over the world.”

LOS ANGELES — Goodbye, Norma Jean?Officials say someone climbed a more than two-story tall Hollywood public art piece and stole a statue of Marilyn Monroe.The statue depicting Monroe in her iconic pose from the 1955 film “The Seven Year Itch” went missing early Monday from the “Four Ladies of Hollywood” gazebo.Los Angeles Councilman Mitch O'Farrell says a witness saw someone climb the gazebo on the Hollywood Walk Fame and saw off the statue.Los Angeles police say investigators have recovered fingerprints from the gazebo.The gazebo was erected in 1994. It pays tribute to women in film, with depictions of Dolores Del Rio, Dorothy Dandridge, Mae West and Anna May Wong making up the structure's pillars.Monroe, whose real name was Norma Jeane Mortenson, died in 1962.

LOS ANGELES — Tiffany Haddish says she chose to join a boycott of Georgia after she read the state’s new anti-abortion legislation.Haddish announced this week that she had canceled a show in the state and explained her reasoning Tuesday at the launch of a “Harry Potter” mobile augmented-reality game.“The reason that I canceled the show, is because I read that bill,” she said. “And I feel like everyone should just take the time to read it.”The new law bans abortion once a fetal heartbeat is detected, which can be as early as six weeks, before many women know they are pregnant. It was signed into law on May 7.Haddish had been scheduled to perform Saturday at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Major Hollywood studios have said they may re-evaluate filming in Georgia. Celebrities like John Legend and Spike Lee have joined calls for a boycott.The “Girls Trip” star on Tuesday was the host of an event that unveiled the new “Wizards Unite” video game at Universal Studios’ Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
