Flash flood warning issued for SE Butler Co.
Southeastern Butler County has entered flash flood warning status from about 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service of Pittsburgh.
In the warning, the weather service has noted that flash flooding is “expected” for this area due to an estimated two to three inches of rainfall.
Southeastern Butler County locations at risk are Freeport, Saxonburg, Sarver, Mars, Nixon and Valencia.
Southeastern locations in Armstrong County, including Ford City, are also at risk.
The entire county has been in flash flood watch status for most of the day as the rain and thunderstorms continue. The flash food watch status will stay in affect until 8:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the weather service.
