Dog dies in Oakland Township house fire
Crews responded to a house fire Wednesday morning on Old East Butler Butler Road in Oakland Township.
OAKLAND TWP — No people were injured, but a dog in an Oakland Township home died during a structure fire Wednesday morning, authorities said.
An Oneida Valley Fire Department official said a woman returned home after leaving for a short time to find smoke and fire coming from the home, located on the 300 block of Old East Butler Road.
Authorities believe the fire was predominantly in the kitchen area of the home, but information on the cause of the fire was not immediately available.Fire crews extinguished the flames — which burst through the windows — from the outside using water.
