Graham, Butler bowlers move into 1st place
Jordyn Graham put together a 599 series and the Butler girls bowling team avenged an earlier loss to Shaler and took over first place in the WPIBL North Section with a 5-2 win over the Titans.
Graham had games of 247 and 245 to lead the win Wednesday at Family Bowlaway. Reegan Malis added a 203 game and 551 series while Lauren Bash had a 510 series for the Golden Tornado (5-1).
Shannon Roche paced Shaler (4-1) with a 556 series.
Butler's boys improved to 5-1 with a 7-0 victory. Jordan Reges rolled a 553 series and Cole Thrash a 546 for the Tornado. Shaler slipped to 2-3.
In other action:
Freeport's boys and girls swept Apollo-Ridge, 7-0. Mark Livingston paced the Yellowjacket boys with games of 202 and 206, and a 585 series. Blake Olson had a 206 game, David Kinniburgh a 193.
Girls Basketball
Kristin Auvil scored 18 points and added 11 rebounds and Aslyn Pry also grabbed 11 boards, but Moniteau dropped a 55-40 decision at Clarion.
The Warriors slipped to 3-8 and travel to Cranberry Monday.

Aiden Skradski scored 22 points and Jalen Brown added 18 Tuesday night as Freeport defeated Mount Pleasant, 66-55.
The Yellowjackets trailed 26-25 at halftime before outscoring Mount Pleasant 23-11 in the third quarter.
