2 Freeport men die in Armstrong County crash
Two men from Freeport were killed in a car accident Sunday night in South Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.
Daniel Lee Fullerton Jr., 49, and his passenger, Gregory Sabattini, 57, died of multiple blunt force trauma and were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Brian K. Myers, Armstrong County coroner.
The coroner said that Fullerton was traveling southbound in a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer about 9:40 p.m. when his vehicle left the roadway as he tried to negotiate a curve.
When Fullerton's vehicle returned to the roadway, it went sidewise, striking a northbound 2015 Honda Pilot driven by John Clark of South Dakota, according to reports.
The Fullerton vehicle overturned and landed on its roof 35 feet from the middle of the roadway, Myers said. Neither men were wearing a seatbelt, according to reports.
Meyers said toxicology reports are pending.
Clark was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, according to official reports.
The coroner's office was assisted at the scene by South Buffalo and Harrison Hills firefighters, Freeport Ambulance and state police from the Kittanning Barracks.
