County students hold roles in Lincoln Park's 'Nutcracker'
Ten Butler County students will be part of “The Nutcracker” going on Thursday through Sunday at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center.
Butler County students in the 75-member cast include 12th-graders Cianna Aguglia of Cranberry Township and Zane Gagliardi of Butler; 11th-graders Alexis Walker of Mars and Katy Coulson, Tricia Dietrick and Bethany Kershaw, all of Cranberry Township; sophomore Kyli Burton of Cranberry Township; ninth-graders Madison Mann of Mars and Alexa DeJeet of Cranberry Township; and eighth-grader Soraya Aguglia of Cranberry Township.
Based on a short story by E.T.A. Hoffman, “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King,” the ballet follows the journey of a young girl, Clara, into a magical land on Christmas eve, in which a Nutcracker Prince battles against a Mouse King.
Clara’s journey is shared with waltzing snowflakes, enchanted toys and a Sugarplum Fairy.
Concessions will be offered in the newly-named Park Café at the Performing Arts Center in Midland, Beaver County, and a 30-foot Christmas tree will be displayed in the center’s atrium.
Tickets are available online at www.lincolnparkarts.org/events, or by calling 724-576-4644.
