Mining executive buys majority shares of Oberg Industries
After taking over Pittsburgh Brewing Co. at the start of this year, the owner of a local mining operation has expanded into precision manufacturing.
Cliff Forrest III, owner of Rosebud Mining Co. of Kittanning, bought controlling interest in Oberg Industries of Freeport, according to Ken Eck, a corporate communications manager for Oberg.
Forrest announced the news to Oberg employees in both Sarver and Freeport Tuesday.
The company will now operate as a partnership between Eric Oberg and Forrest with Oberg remaining as a minority shareholder. Oberg is the son of Don Oberg, the company's founder.
