Katt Williams

PORTLAND, Ore. — Comedian Katt Williams has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a hired driver during an argument about taking him and his dog from the Portland, Ore., airport to a performance in the city.

Williams, who was in jail Sunday, came to Portland to perform in Nick Cannon's “Wild `N Out” comedy improv show Friday night.

The car driver had swelling and cuts on his face, according to Port of Portland police. Williams, 47, whose real name is Micah Williams, left in another vehicle and was arrested Saturday.

Williams has been charged with assault in the fourth degree, and an arraignment is scheduled for Monday. He also was arrested for an out-of-state warrant from Georgia.

Last month, Williams won the Emmy Award for guest actor in a comedy series for “Atlanta,” a TV show about two cousins in Atlanta's rap scene.

The arrest comes more than a year after Williams was sentenced to three years of probation in Los Angeles after pleading no contest to stealing a celebrity photographer's camera.

PHILADELPHIA — Bill Cosby's lawyers have asked a Pennsylvania court to overturn the actor's conviction and three- to 10-year prison sentence because of what they call a string of errors in his sex assault case.

The defense motion argued that trial Judge Steven O'Neill erred in declaring Cosby a sexually violent predator who must be imprisoned to protect the community. Lawyers called the sentence more punitive than necessary, given the standard 2-to-3-year guideline range for the crime and the fact Cosby is 81 and blind.

They also said the trial evidence never proved the encounter with accuser Andrea Constand took place in 2004, and not 2003, or that Cosby was arrested within the 12-year time limit.

Cosby was arrested on Dec. 30, 2015, and was convicted at a second trial this April. He has been in a state prison near Philadelphia since the Sept. 25 sentencing, when the judge refused to let him stay out on $1 million bail pending appeal.

LONDON — There will be military fanfare and red velvet cake when Princess Eugenie weds this week — Britain's second royal wedding of the year.

The 28-year-old granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II is due to marry liquor company executive Jack Brooksbank on Friday in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Prince Harry, her cousin, and American actress Meghan Markle married at the same venue in May.

Buckingham Palace said Sunday that Eugenie's service will feature a trumpet fanfare and Scottish pipers, a performance by Italian singer Andrea Bocelli and a prayer written by Archbishop of York John Sentamu.

London baker Sophie Cabot is making the red velvet-and-chocolate wedding cake, billed as “a traditional cake with a modern feel.”

The younger daughter of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, Eugenie is ninth in line to the throne.
