One injured in motorcycle-versus-truck crash
MUDDY CREEK TWP — State police suspect a motorcyclist was intoxicated and speeding at about 4:15 p.m., when he collided with a pickup truck near Moraine State Park in Muddy Creek Township.
A medical helicopter flew the 28-year-old man to a Pittsburgh hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
A trooper said the man suffered “massive trauma to the lower body.”
The pickup driver, a 27-year-old West Sunbury man, was not injured.
The accident happened when the motorcyclist, traveling south on Pleasant Valley Road off Route 422's South Shore exit to the park, crossed into the opposing traffic and hit the northbound pickup, police said.
The cycle skidded about 150 feet, throwing the driver onto the road. He apparently wasn't wearing a helmet, according to police.
