Polce: Drunken woman make herself at home in wrong house
Right street. Wrong house.
An allegedly intoxicated woman is accused of walking into a home on the 400 block of West North Street in Butler, much to the surprise of the man that lives there.
When he told the stranger to leave about 4 p.m. Monday, Butler police said, she instead walked up the stairs and into the bathroom.
Police were called and found the suspected intruder, 46-year-old Shellie R. Bergbigler, sitting on the toilet, according to court documents.
The victim, Steve Weichey, 45, was in living room with his girlfriend's father when, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted the defendant enter the front door of his rental house.
“I never saw her before in my life,” he recalled Friday. “I asked her, 'What are you doing? You got the wrong house.'”
Weichey got no answer from the uninvited guest, who started up the stairs. She was clutching a 40-ounce bottle of beer.
Bergbigler, who lives at a duplex just two houses down the street, is facing misdemeanor and summary charges.
