Boy, 13, faces charges in bomb threat case
BUTLER TWP — A 13-year-old boy is accused of making a bomb threat Tuesday at the Butler Intermediate High School.
The written threat was found shortly before 2:30 p.m. inside a stall of a bathroom, said Butler Township Police Chief John Hays, and indicated a bomb would go off the following day.
Hays said they suspect that the same boy who wrote the threat also reported to one of his teachers that he’d found it.
Police said the boy, whom they did not identify, denied making the threat when they questioned him during the investigation.
He is charged in juvenile court with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.
Hays noted that the investigation continues.
