Girl Scouts earn Gold Awards

The Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania announced the following Girl Scouts have earned their Girl Scout Gold Award in the last year.

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouting.

Through thoughtful planning and strong organizational and time management skills, these girls have implemented projects that create sustainable change in their community.

Sabra Richart of Cranberry Township, a graduate of the Seneca Valley School District, worked with her chemistry teacher to to identify specific experiments and develop lesson plans for students who are visually impaired or have other physical challenges

Nicole Morgan of Fenelton, a graduate from Karns City High School, led an after-school tutoring program for third-grade students to prepare them for state standardized testing.

Amber Marie Angert of Karns City, a senior atKarns City High School, created a club at her school called “Yinz got Yarn.” Thirty students and local community members were able to create a total of 17 blankets, 11 scarves, 2 ear warmers and 21 hats to be donated to the Chicora Medical Center and the Net Outreach of Butler Center.
