Airplane crash under investigation in Penn TWP

The aircraft is believed to be a single-engine, one-person plane.

Fire and country officials – plus two curious horses – congregated in a Penn Township pasture, where an experimental airplane crash landed at the noon hour on Thursday.

The pilot, who received a small cut on the head that did not require treatment, lost power after taking off from the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport and crashed while attempting to return to the runway.

Penn and Middlesex Township Police and Penn Township Volunteer Fire Company responded.
