Sixty U.S. Department of Veterans Affair Medical Centers (VAMC) around the country will host baby showers during the weeks surrounding Mother’s Day, in partnership with the Elizabeth Dole Foundation.

VA Butler Healthcare’s Baby Shower is planned from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Health Care Center Auditorium.

“Our hope is to celebrate deteran parents while also increasing awareness of VA’s maternity care services,” said Alan Petrazzi, VA Butler’s Interim Director. “VA Butler’s baby shower will include dinner, shower games, information about VA services, and of course, gifts for new and expecting parents.”

Nearly half of the nation’s 2 million women veterans are of reproductive age. VA offers comprehensive primary care, prenatal and preconception (pre-pregnancy) care, infertility services, maternity care services and the first seven days of newborn care.
