Bentley's mother Peters pleads guilty to two misdemeanor charges

MacKenzie Paige Peters

The mother of a 4-year-old boy who was killed last year in what police say was a sexual assault pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges in county court Tuesday morning.

Mackenzie P. Peters, 21, pleaded guilty to two counts of endangering the welfare of children before county Judge Thomas Doerr.

Peters is one of three people charged in connection with the death of her son, Bentley Thomas Miller. Police say the boy was sexually assaulted in a room at the Motel 8 on Pittsburgh Road in Butler Township by Peters’ boyfriend, Keith Jordan Lambing, 20, of Butler. He has been charged with first-degree homicide and various sex crimes in the case.

Lambing’s mother, Kristen Lee Herold, 43, of Butler, is also charged in the case. Police say she helped Lambing elude police in the aftermath of Bentley’s death, and provided transportation to him while he was wanted for police questioning.

Peters’ sentencing is set for May 3.

Peters and county prosecutor Terri Schultz declined to comment on the plea in court on Tuesday.
