SUV destroyed by fire
CENTER TWP — An SUV was destroyed by fire on Summit Road around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The owner of the Chevrolet Suburban parked in front of an apartment building and was visiting his mother when the fire broke out, Unionville Fire Chief Nathan Wulff said.
The cause was unknown, but not considered suspicious, Wulff said.
No one was hurt.
Magnesium parts in the vehicle caused a small fireball when hit with water, but there was no danger to firefighters, he said.
Several bushes were scorched, but a nearby building and power lines were not damaged. The Mercer Road Volunteer Fire Department assisted.
