Former Butler student charged with posting threats against district online
A former Butler student has been arrested in Allegheny County on a charge of terroristic threats for allegedly posting threats against the district online.
District Superintendent Brian White said he was informed about the ordeal at 4 p.m.
South Fayette police searched the man's home and vehicle and found no weapons, and determined that he does not have access to weapons, White said. The FBI also responded, he said.
He said the former student is in his 20s, but didn't know his exact age.
A letter was emailed to all district students and staff shortly after the incident unfolded.
He said school will be held on Monday.
