Legacy Motown Revue pays tribute to legendary groups
SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University Performing Arts Series brings the magic of Motown to campus Feb. 2.
The Legacy Motown Revue, backed by the Sound Express Band, will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the University Union multipurpose room.
The Revue features four entertainers, backed by the six-piece band.
The Legacy plays music made famous by The Drifters, The Coasters, The Jacksons, Earth Wind & Fire and The Temptations, as well as contemporary soul music.
Sound Express band leader Stan Stigall, who toured with Bill Pinckney’s Original Drifters as music director and pianist, founded the Legacy Motown Revue as a tribute to the legendary groups who created the music that he loved growing up.
Seating is reserved. More information and tickets are available at www.sru.edu/pas or by calling 724-738-2018.
The Performing Arts Series at SRU will close its 2017-18 season March 25 with the Young Irelanders, eight performers presenting traditional Irish music, song and dance.
