School districts receive AP honors

Two Butler County school districts have been named on College Board’s AP District Honor Roll this year.

The Butler and Seneca Valley districts were among the 477 districts in the U.S. and Canada named to the annual list.

Inclusion on the list is based on AP data from 2015, 2016 and 2017.

According to College Board, districts that make the list: have an increase in participation or access to advanced placement courses, have an increased or maintained percentage of certain minority groups scoring 3 or better on at least one AP exam and improve or maintain performance levels when comparing the percentage of students in 2017 scoring a 3 or higher than those in 2015, unless the district has already attained the level of 70 percent or greater.

Seneca Valley and Slippery Rock were named to the Honor Roll last year and Seneca Valley and Mars made the list in 2015.
