Township police investigate incident at Butler Commons Walmart
BUTLER TWP — Township police are investigating after a woman reported that she and her two children were followed around the Butler Commons Walmart last weekend by two suspicious men.
Police say the woman told officers that she was in the store with her children at about 7 p.m. Saturday, when she noticed that two men — one white and the other black — following them around the store.
The woman told police that the men never spoke to her or the children while in the store. But when she left and got into her vehicle with the children, the white man approached and tried to open the vehicle's passenger side door.
The woman told police that the door was locked, and she “sped off” after the man tried to open the door.
Police said they want to speak with the men — the white man is described as wearing a gray, zip-up hoodie; the black man was reportedly wearing a black jacket, black hat and had a teardrop tattoo — about the incident.
Police said they haven't received any other reports about similar behavior at the store, and said “incorrect postings on social media” have spread incorrect information about the incident.
