AK Steel employee burned Thursday
BUTLER TWP — An AK Steel employee is being evaluated at a Pittsburgh hospital after being injured Thursday morning at the company's Butler Works facility, a spokeswoman confirmed Thursday.
The company said the worker, who was not immediately identified, suffered steam burns to parts of his upper body while performing maintenance work at the plant.
It was not immediately clear at what time or in what part of the plant the accident occurred, and there was no immediate information on the employee's condition.
The company, responding to an email requesting more information on the incident, declined to comment Thursday morning.
