Firefighters respond to attic fire after storm
CENTER TWP - Firefighters put out a small attic fire this afternoon that was possibly caused by a lightning strike.
Unionville Fire Chief Nathan Wulff said the fire in one of the Brookstone Condominium buildings was put out with a water can around 2:30 p.m. No one was hurt.
The damage was limited, and Wulff said the residents would likely be able to return to their homes today.
Shortly before the fire, a strong thunderstorm had passed through the area. Tuesday afternoon's storms caused 366 power outages in Butler County, according to West Penn Power.
Unionville was assisted by the Butler Township, Oneida Valley and Mercer Road fire departments.
