Police seek help to find missing girl
PETROLIA — State police and the family of a 17-year-old girl who has been missing since Tuesday evening are asking anyone with information to contact the Butler barracks.
Megan Fichter, who lives on Forest Street in Petrolia, was last seen at about 6 p.m. Tuesday getting into a dark-colored Chevrolet four-door sedan outside Boltz's Market in the borough, according to state police.
Fichter's mother, Julie, said Thursday that the family is still searching for Megan, and has no idea where she might have gone, or who she might be with.
“I have no idea; we have no idea if she met somebody online,” or where she might be, Fichter said.
Megan Fichter is described as being five feet tall, 120 pounds with brown eyes and short brown hair that has been shaved on both sides. She was last seen wearing black clothing and carrying a navy blue and white backpack.
Fichter's mother on Thursday pleaded for her daughter's safe return.
“She's loved very much,” she said. “Her family loves her very much.”
Anyone who has information about her location is asked to call state police in Butler at 724-284-8100.
