A day of service in orange T-shirts
The Church of Nazarene spruced up the streets of downtown Butler Wednesday.
Members of the Butler church pulled weeds, picked up trash and painted curbs as part of its 2017 Family Camp Week.
“We are just loving of people,” said Sandy Greenlee, the church’s missionary president.
About 100 people in orange T-shirts provided community service in an area bordered by North Street, Jefferson Street Main Street and Washington Street.
They also passed out water bottles to people and balloons to children, and laid mulch around the city’s police and fire building.
This is the second straight year the church has held a community service day in downtown Butler. David Smith, co-pastor at the Church of Nazarene in Franklin, Pa., also participated in the project.
