Fourth man charged in death investigation
BUTLER TWP — A fourth person has been charged in connection with the killing of Melissa Barto.
Justin M. Johnson, 19, was charged today by state police with felony hindering apprehension or prosecution and misdemeanor false reports to law enforcement authorities.
He was arraigned by District Judge Kevin O'Donnell this afternoon and booked into Butler County Prison on $100,000 bail.
According to a criminal complaint, he approached police and made a statement that he was with Ishemer Ramsey and Melissa Barto on the day of her death and that he saw her get into a Subaru car with a female driver.
Ramsey had been been charged with criminal homicide and police say Johnson was intentionally trying to disrupt the investigation with his statements.
