Red Barn begins season with 'Not Now Darling'
FRANKLIN TWP, Beaver County — The Red Barn Players’ first show of its 63rd season will be the farce “Not Now, Darling.”
The show, written by Ray Cooney and John Chapman, will be directed by Nancy Batko of Hampton Township.
Cast members include Jeff and Alison Carey of Butler; Don Pepe of Harmony; Dave Joseph of Monaca; Kathi Finch of Sewickley; Barbara Trehar of Economy; Paul Angelucci of New Castle; Kate Batko and Jessa Hvizdalek Boehler, both of McCandless Township; Theo Reddinger of Rochester; and Carolee Shearer of Pittsburgh.
The setting of the play is the exclusive London fur salon of Bodley and Crouch, where Crouch (the well-meaning innocent) struggles to keep things on an even keel despite the energetic philandering of his partner.
Suspicious wives, mistaken identities, scantily clad girls clapped hurriedly into closets, and a continuous barrage of rapid fire jokes all become part of the hilarious doings, as the action of the play bubbles along merrily right up to the final curtain when, miraculously and to the great relief of all concerned, everything somehow manages to work out as it should.
Performances are set for 8 p.m. June 2-3, 8-10 and 15-17 at the Red Barn Theatre on Route 288, the Ellwood-Zelienople Road.
Tickets are $13. Call 724-773-7150 for reservations.
Other upcoming shows are: “Jesus Christ Superstar,” July 7-8, 13-15 and 20-22; “Beer for Breakfast,” Aug. 11-12, 17-19 and 24-26; and “Hilda’s Yard,” Sept. 15-16, 21-23 and 28-30.
