East Butler’s Garet Banner struck out seven, walked two and allowed just three hits in a complete-game, 7-1 victory over Meridian in Butler County legion baseball play Thursday at Highfield Park.

Brandon Hilderbrand singled twice and doubled, Isaiah Lucas doubled twice, Braxton Hilderbrand had two singles and Jim Doles a base hit in the win.

Jarrett Lyons, Cole Thompson and Stutz each singled for Meridian.

In Tuesday’s season-opener, Center Township defeated East Butler 7-5.

Jacob Somerville had four hits, including two doubles for Center Township while Trent Vandevort singled twice and Jacob Kaltenbach had a single.

Trevor Gilliland singled and doubled for East Butler.
