Saved by strangers
It seems to me that our modern society is so preoccupied that one wonders if there are kind and caring folks hiding somewhere. Well, I found them. Right here in Meridian are some of the best.
One dark and very rainy night in late March I was driving on Highland Avenue in Meridian, when I began experiencing congestive heart failure.
I couldn’t get air, thus my brain was becoming deprived of oxygen. I stopped the car and tried to walk to a house that had its porch lights on but I couldn’t make it and fell to the ground.
Two gentlemen a couple of houses down were on their porch, as it was very warm. They left their comfort and any misgivings and came to my aid. A few other neighbors did the same. These wonderful people took care of my car and my purse and called 911 as I was losing consciousness.
These folks stayed with me, standing in the pouring rain, until the ambulance came.
You wonderful people actually saved my life. There are no words of thank-you big enough. May the goodness and blessing that you gave me be returned to you in great measure.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
