Young girl mauled by dog
BRADY TWP -- A girl was flown by medical helicopter Friday morning to a Pittsburgh hospital after being mauled by a dog at a home in the township, authorities said.
The girl, believed to be 3 years old, was reportedly bitten by a pit bull/terrier mix, while with her mother at a friend's home on Lindey Road.
Her condition was not known Friday night.
State police and the state dog warden are investigating.
The dog owner, Daniel Oliver, will be cited for not having the dog's rabies vaccination up to date, according to a news release.
A Butler Ambulance Service crew tended to the girl before she was taken at about 10:50 a.m. to the Unionville fire station in Center Township where a STAT MedEvac helicopter flew him to an unspecified hospital.
