Lee Richard Moorhouse

Lee Richard Moorhouse, 79, of Englewood, Fla., died Nov. 19.

He was born March 7, 1937, in Pittsburgh, to Harold E. and Margaret Ann Wagner Moorhouse.

Mr. Moorhouse was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving as an EM3 aboard the USS Valley Forge CVS45 based out of Norfolk. He worked for NCR for 22 years as a service engineer and finished his career working for Jencons Scientific Ltd. as a warehouse and service manager.

He had 22 years of vocal and opera training with Maria Cavaney Coolahan. He sang with the Pittsburgh Opera and soloed with many area churches and performed with numerous organizations in the Pittsburgh area. He was a member of the Cranberry Community United Presbyterian Church, a member of William D. McIlroy Lodge 269 F&AM, a 32nd degree mason of the Valley of Pittsburgh Scottish Rite Consistory and a member of Syria Temple in Pittsburgh. He also belonged to the American Legion and the Loyal Order of Moose.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Linda A. Housley Moorhouse; two daughters, Linda Lee Lowry of Schaumburg, Ill., and Kimberly Letzkus of Monroeville, Pa.; two stepchildren, Barbara Ann DeWoody of Orlando, Fla., and William J. McKenna III of Nutter Fort, W.Va.; three grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.

MOORHOUSE — Memorial services for Lee Richard Moorhouse, who died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cranberry Community United Presbyterian Church, 2662 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
