Butler graduate Julia Baxter scored 33 points and grabbed 20 rebounds Wednesday as the Butler County Community College women’s basketball team defeated CCAC, 89-38.

Lydia Roth and Saydie Moore contributed 12 points each and Christina Davis had six assists.

Garrett McHenry scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, but the Pioneer men (0-16) lost 95-56 to CCAC. Brandon Record scored 17 points.

Slippery Rock (men) 78, Clarion 72 — Naquil Jones paced five SRU (10-6, 6-4) players in double figures Wednesday night with 21 points and seven assists. Merdic Green added 14 points, Khyree Wooten 12, Vinny Lasley 11 points and seven rebounds, Amir Maddred 10 points and seven boards.

Clarion 85, Slippery Rock 83 (women) — Lexi Carpenter tallied 32 points, five assists and five rebounds for The Rock (7-9, 4-6), which saw a late rally fall short.

Brooke Hinderliter scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Mallory Heinle had 10 points and eight boards, Morgan Henderson 10 points.

Both SRU teams travel to East Stroudsburg Saturday.
