Winter weather causing headaches
Quickly freezing road surfaces, particularly brick streets, late this morning produced vehicle accidents that kept emergency responders busy.
A car rolled onto its side on Main Street in the Lyndora section of Butler Township, forcing police to close sections of the streets in the area until anti-skid material could be spread.
No one was hurt in the Lyndora accident.
Other police radio transmissions noted several accidents on South Main Street hill in Butler Township.
Lyndora also was the site of power outages, including the traffic light at Hansen Avenue and Whitestown Road at the western end of the Pickle Gate Crossing.
West Penn Power Co. reported 384 outages just before noon, all of them in Butler Township.
