VALENCIA — Nearly $5,000 worth of tires and wheels were stolen from a luxury vehicle sometime between late Sunday night and early Monday morning at Twin Willows Auto Sales.

“Somebody decided they needed the wheels more than we did,” said John Seibel, Twin Willows Auto Sales owner.

Four tires and wheels from a 2007 Bentley Continental GT with the retail value at $4,800 were stolen. The dealership replaced the wheels at the cost of $4,000.

The Bentley was in front of the dealership, and because of the heavy traffic on State Route 89, Seibel believes the wheels and tires were stolen very quickly so the actors were not noticed.

“They had to have been in and out in three, four minutes, so it had to have been a group of people,” he said. “I don't think it could have been one guy in three, four minutes.”

Seibel said the dealership was having functional issues with its surveillance system, but is in the process of going through its video to attempt to determine who the culprits were.

He is offering a $3,000 cash reward for anyone who can offer information that leads the dealership and police to who stole the tires and wheels.

He also has a message for the thieves themselves.

“If they want to drop (the wheels and tires) off, they'll be no harm, no foul,” Seibel said. “If they want to come clean about what they did wrong and bring them back, we're willing to move on.”

Seibel said he spoke to Middlesex Township police about this, and that the police are OK with Seibel not pressing charges if the merchandise is returned.

However, Seibel is not hopeful for that outcome.

“It's an unfortunate situation,” he said. “I'd rather them come forward and come clean, but I don't foresee that happening, as a lot of people don't have the morals that we used to have.”
