Rain halts Sox game
The Butler BlueSox led West Virginia 4-3 in the fourth inning Tuesday before rain suspended the game.
It will be resumed Friday at Kelly Automotive Park before the regularly scheduled game against the Miners.
The BlueSox were coming off a much-needed win against West Virginia.
Seneca Valley High product Connor Coward pitched a gem Monday night against the Miners.
The Butler BlueSox ace struck out 13 and walked only two in seven innings in a 6-1 Prospect League baseball victory over the West Virginia Miners.
Coward, whose ERA now stands at 2.22, allowed one run on just four hits.
Zach Patterson and Kyle Zurak worked scoreless innings in the eighth and ninth, respectively.
Butler’s offense was led by Will Schneider, whose one hit was a bases-clearing triple in the top of the second inning.
James Meeker added a 2-for-4 effort with a run scored.
Butler (7-11 second half) returns home tonight to begin a two-game home series against Kokomo at The KAP.
