BlueSox score late in road win

Butler scored a combined four runs in the seventh and eighth innings to turn a once-tied game into a 7-3 Prospect League baseball win at Chillicothe Wednesday night.

The BlueSox grabbed a 4-3 lead when a Chillicothe error on a ball hit by Jamie Switalski allowed Nick Spangler to score in the top of the seventh.

Butler then added three insurance runs in the next frame. Tyler Sullivan singled home Nick Stotler and Tyler Niemann. James Meeker then came home on a double-steal attempt to put the Sox up by the 4-run margin they would win by.

Dillon Sunnafrank earned the pitching win after allowing three runs on five hits in six innings of work. He struck out two and walked two.

Jack Herzing (two innings) and Zach Patterson (one) worked a combined three innings of scoreless relief, with the former striking out three batters.

Butler (17-19 overall, 3-3 second half) received a 2-for-3 night from Niemann, who singled, tripled and scored three runs. Meeker singled twice, scored one run and drove in another.

Butler visits West Division foe Terre Haute tonight.
